Foundation Degree Arts (FDA) Animation
2 YEARS, FULL-TIME, UNDERGRADUATE
COURSE DESCRIPTION
If you want the hands-on knowledge and skills to become a professional animator while gaining a degree, this is the course for you.
This innovative foundation degree is an exciting and intense two-year programme. You will cover animation from its fundamentals in drawing through to using sophisticated computer-based techniques.
In your first year you will develop your skills and knowledge of animation alongside theoretical and personal and professional development units. In your second year you will continue to undertake theory work, but also produce an animated film for your major project and end of year show.
An important part of both years is work-based learning centred on outside work attachments and simulated live projects.
There is the opportunity for progression to our new final year BA Honours Animation degree programme. To be considered for progression students need to achieve a Merit classification and complete a short bridging unit.
Selection will be via application and interview (subject to validation).
COURSE PHILOSOPHY
To develop the skills students need to pursue a career in the animation industry by supplying a teaching and learning environment that is as close to industry professional standards as possible.
